IV Measurement

TS-Space Systems offers a complete IV measurement system based on the Keithley electronic load with control software built in Labview (software ships and runs with the Labview Runtime engine). The system is computer-controlled over a USB interface with all the settings accessible through the screen. The data is presented on the screen with the option for saving to disk, exporting to Microsoft Excel and/or printing. Our IV measurement software is included for free with any Unisim or Class AAA solar simulator.

The software is designed to run on a PC and to be used with the Keithley 2600 series SMU to provide a varying load to a solar cell under test.

Using our highly stable Metal-Halide Close Match solar simulator, our IV measurement system can complete a 100 point cell sweep in 1.6 seconds.

The software is able to conduct the following under illuminated IV test conditions:

Calculate cell Voc and Isc from a sweep
Select either manual or auto sweep setting
Sweep volts and measure current
Sweep current and measure volts
Vary the integration time for measurements
Vary filtering and averaging for the Keithley 2400
Vary the number of sweep steps
Graphically display IV plot of measured volts and amps sweep (with max power point marked and the ability to zoom and resize the graph)
Calculate cell characteristic parameters:
- Voc
- Isc
- Jsc
- Pmax
- VPmax
- IPmax
- Eff%
- FF%
Save all calculated parameters and sweep data to measurement file (with option to export to MS Excel spreadsheet*)
Load previous IV curves for comparison.

The software also provides a Dark IV sweep facility to:

Conduct Dark IV tests
Extract shunt and series resistance from the IV curve via user-selected gradients
Append shunt and series resistance values to the measurement file.
Save all calculated parameters and sweep data to measurement file (with option to export to MS Excel spreadsheet*)
